Reflected in our tree symbol, LB Homes is a place you can take root and truly grow in your career.  Our scholarship programs give employees the ability to increase knowledge and improve skills in a variety of areas, including nursing services.

Eligibility

  • Participants must be employed at LB Homes and work at least 10 hours per week at LB Broen Home
  • The chosen educational program must lead to a career advancement within LB Homes long term care, which includes curriculum for nursing services (NA/R, LPN, RN, etc.) as well as various other fields of study (accounting, business, finance, dietary/nutrition, IT, social work, etc.)
  • Administrators are not eligible

What does it cover?

  • Expenses can include periodic required minimum amount loan payments, but not loan balances due
  • Costs can include student loan expenses or the costs related to the course of study:
    • Tuition, books, mandatory fees, and some supplies
    • Reasonable childcare costs
    • Reasonable transportation costs

How does it work?

Reimbursements will be made to the employee after needed documentation is received and after successful completion of the program/classes in a given academic period (i.e. semester)

Training Classes

Eligibility

Program available for qualified applicants looking for an exciting career as a Nurse Assistant/Registered within our Enhanced Assisted Living care

Participants must be employed at LB Homes and work at least 16 hrs/week at LB Woodland Lodge

What does it cover?

Expenses related to the completion of training to become a Nurse Assistant/Registered

How does it work?

Participants will complete coursework through Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls as well as supervised training in a clinical environment

Upon fulfillment of coursework and clinicals, participants must successfully complete a competency evaluation

Nurse Loan Forgiveness

Are you a recently graduated licensed practical nurse (LPN) or registered nurse (RN)?  If so, you may be eligible for the LB Homes loan forgiveness program.  Come join our team for a minimum of two years at LB Broen Home, our 5-Star rated nursing home, and LB Homes will cover up to $5,000 every year toward your educational expenses, up to four years.  Get paid doing the work you love and pay down your student loan debt all at the same time!

Eligibility

  • Program available for LPNs and RNs
  • Must commit to work for LB Homes a minimum of two years
  • 50% of hours worked must be done at LB Broen Home

What does it cover?

Loans for actual costs paid for tuition, reasonable education and living expenses

How does it work?

  • Payments of $5000 paid annually, not to exceed $20000 total for a maximum of four years are covered
  • If individuals do not fulfill their minimum two year requirement (to LB Homes), they will be required to repay the total amount received plus interest
